If you have any Custom Sensitive Data Types that you want to create based on a specific pattern (such as another country’s driver’s license), you can use the regular expression feature to scan your data store. Any platform user with a platform role that includes the permission to create Custom Sensitive Data Types can create regular expression Custom Sensitive Data Types.
- Navigate to Classification > Sensitive Data Types
- Either:
- Click the Create Sensitive Data Type button to add a new Sensitive Data Type
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon on any table row to edit an existing Custom Sensitive Data Type
- Select relevant Data Type Category, or create a new one.
- Optionally, add a description and any relevant data tags.
- Under Match Conditions, you can apply specific conditions for matching keywords and/or content to dictate the classification of this sensitive data type. Adding these improve the accuracy of detecting sensitive data.
- Select matches regular expression in the dropdown next to Keywords to match against a regular expression. Input your regex in the righthand field and validate its syntax with the test your regex link.
- Select matches exact words in the dropdown next to Keywords to match against specific words. Add words likely to appear with the Custom Sensitive Data Type (eg. password, SSN).
- Select matches regular expression in the dropdown next to Content to match content against a regular expression. Input your regex in the righthand field and validate its syntax with the test your regex link.
- Click the Save button.
- Select matches regular expression in the dropdown next to Keywords to match against a regular expression. Input your regex in the righthand field and validate its syntax with the test your regex link.
