    Dasera 7.2 release notes

    Major New Features

Custom Sensitive Data Type Support for Unstructured Data Classification

User-defined custom sensitive data types can now be detected within unstructured files found in S3 Buckets, enabling complete classification and detection of sensitive data in your environment. When creating a sensitive data type, check the box for Apply a Match Condition, then click Unstructured Data to input your regex for file content and context words for improved accuracy of sensitive data detection. Upon the next scan of the data store, the Sensitive Data Type page will display the number of usernames with access to the sensitive data type, which you can drill into for further analysis.

    Improvements and Updates

    Longer Scan Frequencies Support

For customers with larger data stores whose scans may not easily complete within smaller intervals, you can now set scan frequency intervals to as wide as monthly. While Dasera recommends daily scanning as default, this offers additional flexibility for your scans. You can set the scan to run either by a specified weekday within the month (eg, every 2nd Friday) or by the month's date (eg, every 8th of month). You can also designate the specific timing of each scan by hours and minutes (eg. 2:54 PM). From the Data Store Inventory Page, you now have the ability to filter by scan frequency to identify which data stores are scanning at which frequency.

Dasera Email Server for SaaS Tenants

A Dasera-hosted email server is now available for all Dasera-hosted SaaS instances. When setting up email notifications or report scheduling, you no longer need to configure an SMTP server to leverage this functionality and can use one built into the tenant.

    Platform User Management Updates

When configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity Provider (IDP)-based user management, we've simplified the configuration flow, so the remote directory always serves as the central source of truth for determining all platform users' access and role. When enabling these settings, Dasera will notify users of specific outcomes of their configuration.
